Goddard Library Advisory Committee Charge
Purpose:
The Library Advisory Committee serves as a consultative body to support the mission of the RCTC’s Goddard Library in advancing teaching, learning, and research. The committee provides recommendations on library services, resources, and strategic initiatives to ensure alignment with the academic and student success goals of the college.
Responsibilities:
- Make recommendations on library priorities, including resource allocation, technology, and space planning.
- Provide input on collection development and instructional support strategies.
- Serve as a liaison between the library and academic departments to identify emerging needs.
- Review and recommend policies that impact library operations and user experience.
- Promote awareness of library services and advocate for their effective use across campus.
Membership:
- Faculty representatives from diverse disciplines.
- Staff members from key student support and academic service areas.
- One librarian chairs the committee along with the Dean of Academic Services, Support, and Innovation (ex officio).
Meetings:
- The committee will meet at least once a semester.
- Additional meetings may be scheduled as needed for special projects or initiatives.
Term of Service:
- Faculty and staff serve a two-year term, and student representatives serve one-year terms.
